The kitchen is the heart of the home. And who doesn’t love kitchen cabinet customizations that make life easier in a well functioning kitchen? At Rick and Lisa’s project on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, their home is directly on the water. The kitchen has large windows that open to the view and flood the space with natural light. The kitchen is open and airy with dove white custom cabinetry on the perimeter and a soft gray on the center island. Lisa wanted to be able to have a home office station in the kitchen to sit and enjoy the view on occasion. We designed a special, pull-out shelf in the center island with 30” deep heavy duty, full extension glides for Lisa to setup her laptop. Hidden behind a false-drawer front, the large shelf pull out and has access to a power supply to keep devices charged and cords off the countertop.
