We Bid Each Other Adieu

WARNING: About the Graphic Nature of the pictures below–the carnage is real.

Dear Fiona,

You are the epitome of beauty and grace, a peregrine falcon whose presence graced my window sill for over 5 years with absolute majesty. Your sleek feathers and piercing eyes captured the essence of wild grace, reminding me daily of the wonders of the natural world.

While some might label you a “messy eater” (and I won’t deny the overwhelming evidence), your penchant for leaving behind a trail of feathers and bones only added to your charm. And the who could forget the day I found a full-grown duck on the sill?

Watching you soar through the sky with unmatched speed and agility was a sight to behold, a reminder of the untamed spirit that lies within us all.

As you embark on your next journey, and I move to my new offices in Hunt Valley, MD and Denver, CO, know that you will be dearly missed. The window sills will feel empty without your presence (although the neighborhood birds will certainly breathe a sigh of relief) but your memory will forever be etched in my heart.

Farewell, Fiona, my messy eater, my beautiful and regal friend. May your wings carry you to new heights, may you forever fly in blue and clear skies, and may you always find ample prey for your hunting pleasure.

With love and fondness,
Peter
